“SKYRIM - Shattered Shield”WOO OUR SKYRIM SHORT IS FINALLY DONE!
My good friend over at NODE studios directed this and asked me to star in it, as well as do some of the costumes! And HERE IT ISSS! Go watch me stab some fools!
My costume and the necromancer costume by me.
Mercenary costumes by myself and Daniel Kim.
There were some AWESOME people involved in this and it really pulled together in to something amazing! We all worked very hard on this so checkkkk itttt out!
So I have a problem.
I have an addiction to buying Bluray movies, and its a bad one. Just something about owning classic titles in HD, revitalizing our favorite movies into modern day quality. Its actually probably the slim blue cases, yea that’s probably it.
Newer movies look great on Bluray, sure. Buts its all about the classics! For the longest time I’ve wanted to own “The Crow” on bluray but since it only came out in Japan and Europe its very rare and expensive. Like $120 rare and expensive. Needless to say I held off on buying it for awhile.
Thankfully the wonderful amazing Netflix uploaded it in HD to their instant que recently and I’ve watched it at least 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Man, I love that movie. I think people forgot how much “The Crow” influenced all of our favorite movies and games these days. The fact that Heath Ledger got a lot of inspiration for the Joker in “Dark Knight” from “The Crow”. Not to mention the countless games that rip parts straight from the movie. The main reason “The Crow” is the best movie is because it ends with Eric Draven killing the main bad guy by delivering 30 hours of pain, TO HIS FACE. Fin.

10 of us from the video game team went and covered E3 this year and had a pretty damn good time doing so. E3 being the most enormous and redonk Gaming trade show/event ever, made the week hectic and insane. Not to mention the after parties that went til around 5 in the morning, then having to wake up at 9am to make it to the show in time. I think we did a decent job covering the event but we can only get better from here.
I love E3, and not just because of the games but the people. Every E3 tons of my gaming friends come to LA to kick it. From friends in the gaming industry to my WCG Ultimate Gamer Home-Bro’s and Chic-Slices. They all show up and we have a great time playing the newest games and then going to the swankest after parties. Pro-tip, all E3 after parties worth going to are open bar all night. I also love the fact that E3 is an industry event, this helps weed out the sweaty neckbeards that plague most conventions. Having been to my fair share of anime conventions I can tell you its refreshing to be around more insightful company.
Here’s a video my buddy Swoozie edited together about his trip to E3 and all the excellent times!

In other news the PSN network and store have reopened so I finally “bought” Dead Nation. I can not express to any of you how much I love this game. The true terror and adrenaline you feel while mowing down hundreds of zombies in a alley way while back peddling towards an even larger horde of starving undead, then to turn around and sprint full speed hacking and slashing your way through the other mass of bodies shambling towards you all while reloading your tricked out SMG. Once splattering your way through the pile of bodies to only find a dead end. Without a moments hesiatation spinning around and spraying every round you have down the long dark alley way. The sound of heads popping and spines snapping as your bullets rip into the growing mass of corpses that are pressing down on you. You hold your breath, daring not to blink, squeezing the trigger all while hoping the waves of undead will stop before your gun goes “click”. Then, thats when you hear it. The heavy pounding of the concrete. The scrapping of enormous blades being dragged across the floor. Plowing its way through the horde of zombies comes charging a 10 foot tall mutated zombie beast with giant cleavers for arms! If you stay where you are, in this dead end of an alley way, your dead. Only one other option, and that’s straight through these undead bastards. With a burst of gun fire you sprint at full strength towards the giant cleaver monster and ocean of undead pouring towards you. Even though the sound of the horde drowns out your battle cry, you still feel it deep within your chest. Just like the words that keep repeating in your mind, “I’ll kill them all, all of them”.
Needless to say, I give Dead Nation a 9/10.
Here is a hilarious review my buddy Sleebs did for Dead Nation. This video cracks me up every time!
So with E3 just around the corner I’m more than stoked to check out all the badass new IP’s. On Thursday I have a scheduled 15 minute gameplay preview of Battlefield 3 which I already know is going to be unbelievably good! I’ve been waiting for Battlefield 3 for 6 years. Sure Battlefield 1943 and the Bad Company series were fun and at times quenched our thirst for a REAL Battlefield game but we all know they could never fully awaken the true soldiers inside us.
I can say with confidence that I am a hardcore Call of Duty player, I love the franchise and always will. Actually let me rephrase that, I love the franchise when there isn’t a better Battlefield game to play and finally the wait will be over come fall this year.
There are so many amazing games that we are going to cover at E3 and I can’t wait. Not to mention a bunch of my WCG Ultimate Gamer family will be there to make the Expo even better! Also my buddy Tali is flying down from Canada to go to E3. I’ll be sure to update with pictures I take at the con. I’ll see you guys at E3!
Here is some sweet stream vids Cliff and I did Thursday. We played all the Call of Duties from 2 - Black Ops and we had a blast!
Also check out these vids the rest of the Mahalo team have been cooking up.

Portal 2 in 2 Minutes
[This is an Autopost from my Blog]
So about a year back I found an amazing prop maker going by the name of Volpin.
http://volpinprops.blogspot.com/
Harrison Krix, the man behind the operation makes some of the most accurate and authentic video game prop replica’s seen to date. He’s made everything from a suit of N7 Armor to the entire Big Daddy Suit! Really amazing work if you haven’t already checked it out which is ridiculous because the link is right above this.
Out of all of his amazing props, one took the cake when it comes to being known on the internet and that would be his Portal Gun. He made the most accurate Portal gun period. Ever since I saw his Portal gun I’ve always wanted one. Having made props before (no where near the quality of Volpins) I realized I could potentially make it myself.
I’ve been working on my Portal Gun for about a week now and I have to say its coming along really well. I’m learning a lot when it comes to what works and what doesn’t. Also Apoxie Sculpt is the best thing ever made, nuff said. I should be done with the gun by the end of next week. This is what I have so far. Start the wiring tomorrow!

So I was at my favorite comic shop, Melt-Down Comic this week shopping for a birthday present. After looking at all kinds of Batman related merchandise I finally decided to get my friend a D&D Dungeon Master city tile set (he is the DM to my game). As I walked towards the register to purchase my box of incredibly nerdy and awesome tiles, a book’s cover caught my eye. Upon closer inspection I realized that I had found something incredible.
The book is called “Last Man Standing” and it is essentially an art book but by staging the art in scrapbook form the artist tells an interesting story full of colorful and surprisingly fleshed out characters. The art is very fresh and sharp, full of life and personality. In the future Mars and other planets become colonised and after years of economic disputes between Earth and Mars war is declared. Many of the human population dies during the brutal world, and in retaliation Mar’s launches an orbital bombardment on the planet Earth killing millions. In response the Earth’s governments create 10 Paladins, the most unstoppable warriors the planet has ever seen. Each with the fighting capabilities of 500 men, they and one million Templars (Super Soldiers) were sent to Mars to clense the planet and to kill the leader of the Mar’s resistance, Dante. The battles that ensued were long and millions died in the process, including 9 Paladins. For each one of the Paladin’s that fell thousands of enemies soldiers were butchered in the process. Finally it was the Paladin Gabriel who laid the killing blow to Mar’s leader Dante and ended the war. Returning to Earth as its greatest champion and last Paladin in existence, Gabriel became the most famous person in the whole world. Gabriel devoted himself to protecting Earth and became a sort of Super Hero, fighting crime and ending wars. Everything was going great until one day Gabriel was framed for the murder of hundreds of people and was sentenced to 9 Levels, the most dangerous prison on the planet. No man had ever escaped from 9 Levels but Gabriel was no mere man. Needless to say Gabriel breaks out of the super prison and goes looking for the ones who framed him to put a bullet through their skulls.
This is where the book begins. Gabriel recieves a letter from a publishing company who wish to tell his story. I’d also like to note that at the bottom of the letter the publisher states that they “Will pay you WHATEVER you want.” so Gabriel decides to make a scrapbook. One full of all the people and places that he has and will encounter. Some who will help him and others who he will kill. Gabriel will be the Last Man Standing and this is his Kill-Book.
The book is beautiful and the way the artist tells the story is so creative and refreshing I would recommend this book to everyone. You really feel like you’ve recieved your moneys worth with “Last Man Standing”, not only because of the content but the sheer size of the book. Its HUGE! Go check out this amazing book by Dan Luvisi.
Oh and once your done looking at the book, you might like to know that Paramount pictures just the right to a “Last Man Standing” movie in which the artist Dan Luvisi will be an Executive Producer!
Check out the artist’s Deviantart!
So we are underway with pre-production for the Portal videos we are going to be making and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve always wanted to build the Aperture Science Experimental Portal Device but could never justify spending the time and money it would take to build it right. That is until now! We have a purpose, and we have funding so I am going to make the most Awesome Town Boss live action video game shorts.
I’m planning on following Volpin’s tutorial on how he built his Portal gun and hope to create my own how to build a Portal gun video series. While giving Volpin credit in all of my videos of coarse. Here is a link to his work,
He makes such incredible props and replicas. The best I can hope for is that my Portal gun will look half as perfect as his but I know I will at least have a blast making the gun!
Also I plan on making a working turret, so you can expect some really awesome stuff in the next few weeks!
All my life, ever since middle school, I’ve wanted to make sweet awesome badass movies. I was in the AV program in middle school, and I took photography and pretty much any class under the sun that had anything remotely to do with film making. Senior year I took an AP coarse on Film Production and in College I went to a tech school for media production. After college I moved down to LA to become an actor and work on film. As you could imagine, that didn’t go quite as planned. I then got a job as a video game tester for Vivendi which later became Activision. Fast forward 3 years later, now I’m working at Mahalo making super awesome fun time adventure video game fan films and I have to smile and laught to myself after realizing how everything pretty much went full circle.
Film making is my passion, and now I have a budget to make these live action video game projects! I’m having a blast making these live action video game shorts and hopefully if they take off and I will be able to make much bigger and better videos in the future.
I also have really great tutorials and behind the scenes footage that I’m going to be cutting up and posting next week so keep your eyes peeled!
Also check out these great videos my buddies on the video game team have cooked up for this week!

So its really happening! I’ve been wanting to make live action Video Game fan films for along time now. I just finished my Live Action Gears of War video and have to say nothing is more satisfying than chainsawing someone in half. We also filmed some really great behind the scenes and making of videos, I’ll posted them as I finish up the project.
We also filmed and started editing the Live Action Call of Duty video this weekend. Here are some still shots from the shoot on Saturday. The actual video turned out less like Call of Duty than I was expecting but that’s only because my cinematographer Justin Z got so many great shots which I am now using instead of a lot of the First Person Shoots.

I’ve never liked Gears of War, I’ve actually made a point to bad mouth the game whenever possible. Everyone always told me it was the definition of brutal but honestly the most brutal thing I can think of is a demon tank driven by a werewolf with swords for arms. So there was no way Gears could even compare to my freakishly twisted idea of brutality. Given the game is brutal and I will admit that I’m having fun while I play its very clear what kind of person would truly love the series. The game appeals to the most animalistic side of men, kind of like Duke Nukem but to make up for the lack of strippers Gears has relentless gore and blood spray. I’m actually all for those things in my video games but I’ve never played a game that is so blatantly self aware of itself. I think that’s probably the best and worst part about Gears.
